Considering a Career in Pilates? Here’s What You Need to Know

 

If you’re thinking about becoming a Pilates teacher, you’re in the right place. Today, we’re going to walk you through the key steps to take—from choosing the right training program to getting certified and starting your teaching journey. Whether you’re just exploring the idea or ready to dive in, this guide will help you understand what it takes to turn your passion for Pilates into a career.

 

Choose Your Course
Upstate offers comprehensive training in both Mat and Reformer Pilates. You can opt for:

  • Mat Pilates only
  • Reformer Pilates only
  • A combined Mat + Reformer

Complete Online Learning
Before attending in-person sessions, you’ll need to complete approximately 20 hours of online learning.

Attend In-Person Training
In-person training consists of 10 days, spread over four weekends or two full weeks. Individual courses (Mat or Reformer) take 5 days each.

Submit a Logbook
After completing the training, you’ll have six months to submit a logbook documenting your teaching practice.
